A few of my favorite things...
Thought it was time to share a few of the found treasures that I couldn't quite part with. Several of these sat briefly at my booth at Sleepy Poet but are now home with me. I love the glass panels of this old book case that I fell in love with on Craigslist. This would be a good candidate for refinishing or painting--the top is pretty worn and scratched. But I sort of like the worn and comfortable look!
This pew made a brief appearance at my booth at the Sleepy Poet but I quickly realized it belonged at home with me. I was told it was from an old Rhode Island church but it looks like the picture of Southern charm to me.

Back to School!
You can't tell by the weather--it's another 90-plus day here in N.C.--but the kids are returning to school. That means it's time for this adorable child's desk to make its debut in my booth at Sleepy Poet. I have always been nuts about roll-top desks but this one is almost too cute too sell! And the chair that goes with it actually adjusts up and down--just like an adult-size desk of the same vintage. Won't this look cute with a small globe on top and some vintage books?

New Photos!! New Booth!
After a long hiatus, I am finally back with new photos from the booth! At some point I misplaced my camera. I'm happy to report I have a new one, which has seems to be a much better instrument!
I've recently moved my booth at the Sleepy Poet and have a little extra space to show my junk and other finds--this one with three walls. That helps when I have lots of pictures to display. Here's what's there now. Happy junking!

New Junk Finds!
It was a great weekend for junk! I got an early preview at a barn sale and caught several good yard sales Saturday morning. Take a look at my new finds!
Love the old rust colored shutters, and the green mantle pieces have a great old patina on them. The step stool has old linoleum tiles placed on each step--the light green looks great with the vintage globe! And I can't resist shells--put these in a sea-foam tray I painted. Ready for summer!
